Notes - (3/27/99):
This was a very interesting match for all involved. The first map was "The Edge" played on the A-6 Hell server. A-6 had an obvious home field advantage here. Methane was unable to play due to connection problems and Rookie was in and out of the match like a yo-yo. Danger Man replacing Methane but dealt with a truly tough connection describing his view as a slide show shown on a 286 machine... course he was on a modem poor bastard. Deathmancer also pitched in with severe connection troubles even with his cable connection. Unclewad and I were fairly steady but with more than double the ping we usually play with. The A-6 roster had some definite moves going on showing great team work. The whopped up on us as shown by the final score.
Turnabout was fair play on the second map. We played "The Frag Pipe" on the 5assedmonkey server. The T2K crew all had steady connections and even pings for the most part with the A-6 crew. The A-6 crew did have packet loss describing parts of the match like a slide show. Again A-6 showed great team work but fell short of T2K by quite a margin. Unclewad was the star of the show with his 60 frags. If you look deeper in the stats you'll see how really impressive his performance was outclassing the field with a 2.4 kill ratio! Rookie the Wookie also pitched in big numbers with 56 kills to aid the T2K effort.
A mutual agreement was made to make an effort to find a more even battle ground for the tie breaking map. Both clans endured long waits as this decision was made and I'd like to personally thank Ginsu of C4, Blackwolf and Genarro of A-6 and all clan members who waited for such a long time. I'm sure the tie breaker will be as exciting as the first two maps and I speak for all of T2K when I say we are anxiously looking forward to the match.
